A. Preparation
Before you start cleaning your Intex pool filter cartridges, be sure that you have all the following things:
· Rubber gloves- you will be needing these to protect your skin, especially if you have sensitive skin, and you do not want to irritate it;
· Bucket- its capacity is not important; a regular bucket should do the job;
· Water hose- be sure to have light water pressure when you start the cleaning process;
· Alkaline filter-cleaning solution- this can be purchased from any pool supply store.
B. The actual cleaning process
1. As you can imagine, the first thing you should do before you start cleaning your Intex pool filter cartridges is to turn off the power on your intex pool pump, and to remove the cartridge from its place.
2. After you have taken out the filter cartridge from the pump, you must spray it with a water hose. You must be careful to use a light water pressure and a steady stream to avoid damaging the filter. A too powerful water stream can push the dirt on the filter even deeper into it, and you do not want this to happen.
3. After the first two steps are completed, take the bucket and prepare the alkaline solution. You will find the user instructions on the pack. Be sure to have your rubber gloves on, or you will risk irritating your skin, and that is not a pleasant feeling.
4. Put the filter into the alkaline solution and let it soak the entire night. In this way, you will obtain a clean filter, and the water pool will be as clean as you can expect it to be.
5. The next morning take out the filter from the solution and rinse it one more time. You must use light water pressure again, in order to remove the excess cleaning solution. Be careful with this step and do not damage your Intex pool filter cartridges, because you have one more step to go, and it would be a shame to mess it up at the end.
6. The last thing you must do is to put back the filter cartridge into the pump, and enjoy your clean pool water.
